Lugging/Hanging Bit

Usually only used on racehorse's prone to hanging or lugging. The wire bar encircling the jaw is very effective against horses that can 'hang'. The bit allows the rider to exert more pressure on one side of the mouth or the other therefore helping to keep the horse straight.
